About Role

At Growin, we are building out a team of engineers to tackle problems that reimagine the way food is grown. In this role, you will work closely with the internal automation team and outside integrators to drive farm automation controls architecture, define company standards, and assist with system commissioning.  We are looking for someone who has experience in industrial automation and is excited about the task of bringing modern software development practices and tools into the picture. An ideal candidate has experience writing machine software using industrial controllers, understands electrical systems, and can work closely with our software engineering teams on integration and tool development.

What you’ll do:

  • Work with internal equipment design engineers and external equipment integrators to develop equipment utilizing internally developed libraries.
  • Improve the control system library for core automation developed and maintained by Growin.

  • Develop tools to aggregate log data and deploy machine parameters to a fleet of machines.

About Role
Growin is seeking several Farm Operations Associates who will assist in all aspects of indoor farming, and food processing. Your skills and training will be applied to plant production in a modern, fast paced, high-technology hydroponic farm.You will be involved with our efforts aimed at optimizing all aspects of locally grown and packaged commercial produce using hydroponic indoor farming. Your role will include routine activities across a variety of stations, including plant handling, harvesting, farm operations information monitoring and collection of environmental and production data.

What You’ll Do
  • This will be a hands-on role where you will be seeding, transplanting, and harvesting crops
  • Perform routine end of shift daily cleaning of the farm, farm equipment and work area

What You’ll Do

  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures on all plant equipment in a timely and thorough manner

  • Maintain the operation of equipment and systems including, but not limited to: compressed air, HVAC, electrical distribution, controls, lighting, and robotics, PLCs conveyors and other automated machinery

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes

About Role

The Senior Manager, Farm Production Operations will oversee packaging, shipping, and food safety compliance of leafy greens and herbs for the indoor farm. You will be tasked with meeting daily and weekly production plans by process balancing based on your knowledge and experience of machines/equipment in a production environment. About the Role: 

We are an ag-tech company looking for a Production Supervisor who will ensure the safety, quality, and productivity of our farm operations associates.

The Production Supervisor is responsible to supervise the day to day processing functions to maximize the placement of people and use of raw materials to produce products at or below standard budgeted costs; provide product and services that meet product specifications and customer requirements; to ensure that the team drives towards meeting all safety, quality, and sanitation guidelines.

What You’ll Do:

  • Train, teach, coach and motivate Associates.
  • Supervise the activities of Associates, directing their efforts to meet production goals in a safe manner.
  • Maintain safety, quality, sanitation and productivity standards.
  • Ensure production lines are ready to run at start-up.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
  • Ensure product meets required specifications.
  • Follow safety procedures at all time and ensure safety of Associates.
  • Communicate previous shift issues to incoming shift Supervisors and discuss action plans to resolve issues.

What You’ll Do

This will be a hands-on role where you will be harvesting and transplanting crops, monitoring and controlling plant nutrition, and managing high-intensity plant production equipment

The Senior Grower will oversee and direct a variety of farm-wide activities:

  • Establish germination, propagation and growing processes to generate reliable high yield farm output to meet weekly demand

  • Lead a team of associates to meet production schedules

  • Coordinate equipment, raw materials, processing tools, training and resource balancing to meet daily seeding, transplanting and harvesting schedules

  • Drive first-of-its-kind HVAC and thermal system design in an environment that values innovation and system design at the limits of physics

What You’ll Do

  • Work with senior and principal engineers to develop requirements and specifications for advanced lights and control systems.

  • Evaluate and select LEDs from a variety of suppliers and integrate into printed circuit board designs to reach spectrum, efficiency, cost, and lifetime requirements.

  • Work cross functionally to select and/or develop circuitry and systems from concept through deployment in production spaces.

  • Document designs for mass production.

  • Validate designs meet requirements through a combination of calculation, simulation, and testing and document results.

  • Perform diagnosis and repair of issues with existing and new lighting equipment and control systems in production and research environments.

  • Perform failure analysis with guidance from senior engineers and help recommend improvements for future development.

  • Frequently moves test equipment, prototype assemblies, and other equipment weighing up to 25 lbs to support the tasks listed above.

What We’re Looking For 

  • 2+ years of industry experience, designing power, analog, or mixed signal circuitry.

  • Experience working with high voltage, automated testing, Altium Schematic and PCB design, Spice simulation, and Python programming or similar systems.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills backed by strong analytical skills

  • The ability to lift equipment and assemblies weighing up to 25 pound to a height of 3-4 feet and move them to different areas of the workspace.

About the Role

As a Delivery Driver and Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for the delivery of our amazing products through the last step in their journey to our valued customers. You will drive trucks/transit vans to safely deliver products to customers on an established route, promote customer satisfaction by ensuring the customer receives the highest level of service by performing the following duties.

  • Ensure all deliveries are completed on time, safely and courteously

About Role

In this role, you will be a part of a dynamic team working to maintain the operation and sanitation of equipment and systems throughout the facility. If you are a proactive, organized, and operationally focused individual that thrives in a fast-paced environment, you’ve found the right place!

What You’ll Do:

  • Follow preventive maintenance and sanitation procedures on all plant & farm equipment in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Maintain the Sanitation of a variety of farms, offices, and research environments. This includes the daily Maintenance of the farms, and the deep cleaning of the farms in between trials.
  • Inspect the irrigation systems, and the plant health, on a daily basis. This involves knowing how to solve any problems that may be harming a trial, and/or plant health.
  • Partner with the Researchers to ensure that their farms and trials are being maintained to their specifications. 
  • Stay current with the changing nature of trials. Flexibly respond to the changes in trials and trial dates as listed in the project tracker.
  • Receive training in the proper handling and use of the Pesticides that we use to control plant Pathogens. Follow, on a scheduled basis, the use of these Pesticides to prevent and eliminate the spread of pathogens. Support the location IPM program as trained and requested.
  • Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on damaged or malfunctioning equipment; make repairs where necessary or recommend to the Facilities Supervisor or Maintenance Supervisor to arrange for outside vendor to service equipment.
  • Respond to facility emergency situations.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives as relates to building operations and practice safe work habits.
  • Comply with all documentation requirements for Pesticide Handlers. Receive certification and training for the use of chemicals.
  • Provide support for Installation projects. Understand how to build our farms autonomously, if needed.

  • Draft and revise standard operating procedures and work with Operations managers to train others.

  • Support Operations Managers with planning and scheduling as requested.

  • Learn how to conduct root cause analyses on successes and failures. Report items requiring root cause analysis to the Operations Manager.

  • Serves as a team lead for small teams of 1-3 people.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ years of prior experience in a related role

  • Create and lead new product introductions programs, inclusive of timeline, budget, resource management, and scaling up the program up to full production.

  • Responsible for leading the organization through the concept, design, deployment, and launch of major farm programs.
